Funded By Durham Police Crime Commissioner Joy Allen this project saw us working with associate artist and film maker Carl Joyce, young poeple from our Horden and Seaham based groups and OxHill Youth Group. The stories and ideas used to develop the script, alongside script writer Elijah Young are based on first hand experience.
CYO created a bespoke project for my class of 23 year 4 children. They were reliable, communicated effectively with the children and myself were extremely well resourced and the final product's were impressive 3D sculptures. I found the project to be a rewarding opportunity and the children are really proud of what they have produced. This initial sculpture project has been the start of a fruitful working relationship with this amazing local organisation. They have taken this project to a new, exciting level, introducing the children to 'real' artists who have been inspired by and even created local landmarks, making the children's work but relevant and valued. We will certainly involve CYO in future art projects and are already at looking for ways we can work to create new art work for our library. Thank you so much for your inspiration and input.
